Electrostatic Painting
Electrostatic painting puts the law of static electricity to work – opposites attract.
Paint is given a positive charge using 120,000 volts of electricity, then atomized in a special revolving disc. The surface to be painted is then grounded. With this complete, the surface attracts the paint just as a magnet attracts metal filings. Due to this strong static attraction, the paint is literally sucked on to the surface rather than being blown on with compressed air.
